About Me

My photo
Lansing, New York, United States
Hi everyone. My name is Chris Sherman. I am an 18 year old college student, though I'm about to be 19. I am going to major in teaching, but my dream career is to be a music teacher one day. I love being in a school environment and I love being around kids. I love sports! I play all kinds of sports. From top to bottom I like to play Ultimate Frisbee, Football, Basketball, and Soccer. Basically Ultimate Frisbee is just about the best game there ever will be. I'm a very honest person. I am one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I am funny, generous, outgoing, and sympathetic. Well, that's just about it. That is Chris Sherman

Tuesday

Tuesday morning, I found out the whole side of my head was hit in the accident. Along with the bump, most of the side of my head was now bruised. My chest also started bruising a little from the seat belt. Thankfully, Mrs, Garnett gave me one of her rice packs for my neck. It was really nice of her, and I'm telling you its like crack. I heat that thing up and put it on my neck and it works so well. I was actually able to remotely move my neck. Then I was dumb and went to work. BIG mistake. Half an hour into my 8 hour shift, my head started to pound, my neck hurt, and my whole left side was in pain. I should have still been at home resting, but I thought I could handle it. I felt so helpless. The manager on duty wouldn't let me do my normal stuff. I usally fill the ice, take out the milk, bring out the clean ice cream cups, because for most of the waitress' there the thiings are too heavy for them. But the manager wouldn't let me do any of it because of the concussion.I ended up leavng work early because I couldn't take it anymore, so the manager said go and rest. Hopefully Wednesday will be better.

Monday

Well, today pretty much sucked. I didn't do much, because of the pain I was in, I'm even starting to hurt in new places Sleeping was usless, because I had to wake up every two hours thanks to my concussion. I have a big goose egg on my head, which can be easily seen through my hair. I couldn't even move my head like all day because my neck was so still. My dad drove me to Mrs. Garnett's house for dinner then Voices. It was nice to see how concerned they both were about my accident. We talked about what happened, even though I didn't say in detail what happened, because it was to hard to talk about it too much. We went to Voices, but I couldn't sing. Then we left an hour early because of my head and I couldn't talk the pain. Monday was really just the beginning I could tell.

10-10-10

An epic day which only comes once in a lifetime. This day will be one of my most memorable, but not in a good way. On Sunday of my long weekend, I was going to pick up some friends to go to the Y and work out. That didn't happen. You see, a month or so ago, the county decided is was a great idea to tar and gravel the roads where I live, without compacting the gravel down. Maybe they thought out tires would do that for them, but in reality the temperature drop hardened the tar, so not on the sides of the roads the gravel is piling up. Well, the inevitable happened. I got too close to the side of the road and hit the gravel, which made me lose traction and go of the road. I then slightly turned to get back on the road, which made it worse. I ended up spinning out of control, going head first into a ditch, spinning IN the ditch, and the momentum propelled the car back onto the road. I now have some bumps, bruises, a hyperextended ankle, a concussion, and no car. Yeah, my weekend wasn't so great.

Marijuana

Wow! I don't understand the reasoning for smoking pot, or any drug really. Pot is dumb in my mind. I do not see the importance for doing ANY drug. In TC3, I've heard so much about how awesome it is and how people try to get whole groups together to smoke. Like why do people smoke? In my mind, the is NO positive of smoking, only negatives. First, its a waste of money. Second, it is bad for your body. third, it is illegal and you can be arrested for it. I'm not saying I'm perfect. I mean, I go out and drink with my buddy's sometimes and have a good time, but drugs don't appeal to me what so ever. Seriously, first I work way to hard for the little money I have to waste it for getting high for an hour.I will never do a single drug in my life as long as I live. I have never even remotely thought about doing a drug and I never will. I have better things to do than smoke pot. I hope this doesn'y offend anyone, this is not meant for that. I'm only writing what I really feel. Sorry

Being a Bystander

If I were a bystander, it depends on what I am witnessing whether I would help or contact the authorities. Like, if I saw someone being robbed, I would probably help them. If the person hand a gun, I would call the police. It's hard to really say exactly what I would do in every situation until you are currently in that situation. For example if I saw a husband and wife fighting, I wouldn't think anything of it and keep on walking. However, if I saw a husband hitting his wife, I could call the police, and then I would restrain the man and prevent him from further hitting the woman. If I ever saw someone with a gun, I don't think I would run up to him and stop him because I don't feel like being shot. But, if I had the opportunity to sneak up on someone with a gun, I would try. I think that I would be able to take anyone as a bystander if I were able to sneak up on them. Like I said I've never been in a position to make an important decision like that. But I do know if someone was being harmed in any way I would do something, either call the police or take matters into my own hands.

Ultimate Frisbee

Frisbee is without a doubt the best sport EVER!! It is harder than people think. Some people (Sheena!) think that all Ultimate Frisbee is is simply throwing a frisbee. Well, some people are sadly mistaken. To be a good frisbee player, you need to be able to block the frisbee so the other team doesn't get a touchdown. This is your defense. The offensive aspect is running. This whole game is sprinting constantly to either block a catch or catching it yourself. Throwing a frisbee is harder than you wouls expect too. There are many different ways to throw a frisbee, and you need to know most of them to get it to where you are trying to throw it. I myself can throw a frisbee at least 4 ways with both hands. I can also throw it over 50 yards, which is not as easy as one would think. Basically, Ultimate is alot like football, but there isn't any (much) physical contact, and it take more skill and precision. I don't know about Ms. Regula but I say the Freshman Seminar class should go play one day.
